Emily Joy
Emily is an actor and budding director who heralds from Hull. Having begun her acting career in her early teens, Emily has since gone on to perform at Hull New Theatre, Hull Truck, Central School of Speech & Drama and The Bunker Theatre in London.
Emily’s training includes the National Youth Theatre and Central School of Speech and Drama. Emily has also attended the Young Vic’s Directors’ Programme following on from which she was Assistant Director on Dead Good Theatre’s inaugural production - Leaving - at The Bunker Theatre.
In addition to acting and directing, Emily has a passion for movement, physical theatre and devising.
When not collaborating, creating and performing, Emily is a fitness instructor and runs her own garden design business - Emily Joy Garden Design.
Claire Merrick
Born in Liverpool, raised in Wales and now based in London, Claire is an actor and writer who pursued her creative dream following a career in business.
Over the last 10 years, Claire has worked hard on studying her craft with actor training at RADA, The Actors’ Centre and Central School of Speech and Drama, where she met Emily.
Claire’s acting credits include performances at CSSD, Southwark Playhouse, The Bunker (where she co-produced a play) and voiceover work for both animation and factual communication .
Alongside acting, Claire is a writer and has written The Tower and Vincent Sent Me (the latter of which is currently undergoing a redraft after dramaturg feedback). Claire is also working on a handful of other writing projects including: a TV serial drama, Scouse; a complete rewrite of her first play, The Table; exploration of an idea for a play about online sleuths & trolls, Wolves.
Outside of the acting and writing, Claire spends a lot of time running around after her family, working out, learning languages and enjoying all forms of art from theatre to screen to books and galleries.
