The Tower reached the top 10% of submissions in the 2025 Women’s Prize for Playwriting, following the highest number of submissions since the competition launched: 1275 submissions in total! The organisers of the competition were generous enough to provide notes from the competition’s professional readers, with one reader noting, “Taut but witty dialogue, that knows when to hold back and when to go into poignant detail. It is a confident, controlled voice that offers a striking perspective on the world.” This is great news for The Tower and the competition as a whole is great news for women playwrights generally.
